Job Title: Safety Officer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Safety Officer to promote a safe and healthy work environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines. This role is vital in preventing accidents and injuries on-site and requires strong observational communication and problem-solving skills.
Implement and monitor compliance with the company s health and safety policies.
Conduct regular risk assessments and safety inspections across all operational areas.
Identify potential hazards and enforce preventative measures.
Investigate accidents incidents and near misses and recommend corrective actions.
Maintain records of safety-related incidents and propose actionable improvements.
Conduct safety drills toolbox talks and training sessions for employees.
Ensure proper use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Liaise with local safety authorities auditors and management on compliance issues.
Maintain and update safety documentation such as MSDS SOPs and reports.
Assist in developing site-specific safety plans and emergency response procedures.
Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Engineering / Industrial Safety / Occupational Health.
Certification in Industrial Safety / NEBOSH / IOSH / OSHA (mandatory or preferred based on client requirement).
Valid First Aid and Fire Safety certifications (preferred).
In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety standards and regulations.
Strong observation analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to train and influence workers and management on safety practices.
Proficiency in MS Office and safety management software/tools.
