ملخص الوظيفة
The Pipelay Engineer is responsible for planning supervising and executing subsea pipeline installation activities for a Marine EPC Project in Qatar. The role involves coordinating pipelay operations (S-lay J-lay reel-lay) while ensuring compliance with engineering specifications safety standards and project schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
Pipelay Engineering & Planning
- Design and review pipelay procedures (installation analysis layback calculations stress analysis).
- Coordinate with vessel crew survey team and offshore construction team for seamless operations.
- Ensure compliance with DNV API ASME and client specifications for pipeline installation.
Offshore Supervision
- Oversee pipelay vessel operations (e.g. tensioners abandonment & recovery (A&R) stinger adjustments).
- Monitor pipe welding field joint coating and subsea touchdown monitoring.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to pipelay equipment (tensioners aligners lay spread).
Survey & Positioning Support
- Work with surveyors to ensure accurate pipeline positioning (ultra-short baseline (USBL) DGPS).
- Review as-laid pipeline survey reports and ensure compliance with route alignment.
Safety & Quality Assurance
- Enforce HSE policies (IMCA Qatari regulations) during offshore operations.
- Conduct risk assessments (JSA) and ensure adherence to pipeline integrity standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Civil Offshore or Marine Engineering.
- Certifications:
- Subsea pipelay training (Orcaflex OFFPIPE or similar).
- Offshore safety certifications (BOSIET HUET CA-EBS).
- Experience:
- 5 years in offshore pipelay operations (S-lay/J-lay/reel-lay).
- Familiarity with pipelay vessels (e.g. Allseas Saipem TechnipFMC).
- Middle East/GCC experience (preferred).
