Inspect and verify surface preparation environmental conditions paint mixing application methods and coating thickness using appropriate tools and instruments.
Review and interpret coating specifications P&IDs ITPs MSDS and manufacturer s technical data sheets.
Monitor blasting painting and coating activities for compliance with standards such as SSPC NACE ISO and project-specific requirements.
Witness and document holiday testing DFT (Dry Film Thickness) measurements adhesion tests and visual inspections.
Ensure proper storage handling and usage of coating materials in line with manufacturers guidelines.
Identify non-conformities and issue NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) when applicable; verify corrective actions.
Maintain detailed inspection reports test records and quality documentation for submission to QA/QC and client representatives.
Participate in quality audits site meetings and toolbox talks as required.
Coordinate with painting subcontractors clients and other departments to ensure timely execution of coating activities.
Ensure adherence to safety procedures and use of PPE on site.

Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Materials/Chemical) or related field preferred.
NACE Coating Inspector Level II certification (required).
Minimum 3 5 years of experience in coating inspection within the oil & gas and/or marine industry.
Strong knowledge of international coating standards (SSPC NACE ISO 12944 etc.).
Familiar with QA/QC documentation systems and construction site procedures.
Ability to read technical drawings specifications and test plans.
Excellent communication reporting and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word Excel) and inspection software/tools.
