Job Responsibilities Safely operate heavy-duty vehicles like trucks trailers and tankers to transport goods over long or short distances. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle checking tires brakes lights fluids and coupling systems. Plan efficient routes using GPS and maps ensuring compliance with driving hours and rest period regulations (e.g. Hours of Service). Load and unload cargo ensuring it is properly secured and distributed to meet safety standards and prevent damage. Maintain accurate driving logs delivery documentation and incident reports. Monitor vehicle performance and conduct basic maintenance on the road such as topping up fluids or replacing light bulbs. Comply with all traffic laws weight regulations and hazardous materials transportation rules if applicable. Communicate effectively with dispatchers customers and warehouse staff regarding delivery schedules and issues. Represent the company professionally in all customer interactions.
