Our client a leading player in the agricultural sector is seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) to support its large-scale banana operations. This role acts as both a strategic and operational partner to the farm leadership team driving workforce productivity compliance and engagement through effective people strategies. The HRBP will blend high-level strategic alignment with hands-on HR execution working closely with line managers supervisors and field labor teams. A vital part of this role is serving as a communication and cultural bridge between expatriate leadership and local teams ensuring alignment inclusion and operational harmony. This is a full-time on-site position based in a rural agricultural environment. Candidates must be willing and able to live and work in a remote farm setting.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with farm leadership to align workforce planning with operational goals ensuring cost-effective and appropriate staffing levels.
- Oversee end-to-end HR operations including recruitment onboarding data management employee relations and exits.
- Maintain a strong daily presence with field teams to understand challenges and deliver practical people-first HR solutions.
- Translate on-the-ground operational issues into actionable strategies that enhance labor relations productivity and workforce engagement.
- Act as a cultural and communication bridge between expatriate leadership and local teams to foster inclusive decision-making.
- Champion company values to create a high-performance respectful and engaged workforce environment.
- Drive morale retention and productivity initiatives through practical worker-focused programs.
- Ensure effective onboarding safety awareness and integration of all workers (seasonal and permanent).
- Collaborate with supervisors to identify skill gaps and coordinate targeted training and upskilling opportunities.
- Embed simple fair and output-focused performance management systems suited to agricultural field realities.
- Develop frontline and supervisory succession pipelines in collaboration with farm leaders.
- Handle employee relations issues (grievances discipline) fairly and in compliance with labor law.
- Maintain constructive relationships with unions and worker representatives while ensuring compliance with Tanzanian labor laws and agricultural regulations.
- Oversee camp operations and welfare administration ensuring living conditions and amenities meet company standards.
