Shangri-La Barr Al Jissah Muscat Sultanate of Oman

Nestled in between the dramatic backdrop of rugged mountains and the pristine waters of the Sea of Oman Shangri-Las Barr Al Jissah Resort and Spa is set on 124 acres of stunning scenery and home to three spectacular hotels: the family orientated Al Waha comprises 262 rooms the diverse Al Bandar comprises 198 deluxe rooms and the luxurious and most exclusive Al Husn has 180 elegantly appointed guestrooms and suites. The resort also features 22 Food and Beverage outlets 1056 sqm ballroom with 8 breakout rooms wide variety of recreational facilities and a spa with 12 treatment villas.

Job Purpose:

The Assistant Outlet Manager supports the Outlet Manager in overseeing daily operations ensuring high standards of service staff supervision and guest satisfaction. This role helps manage staff schedules training and inventory while ensuring smooth service delivery in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Support:
    • Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the outlet.
    • Supervise team during service and ensure adherence to service standards.
    • Ensure cleanliness and proper setup of the dining area before each shift.
  2. Guest Service:
    • Greeting and interact with guests to ensure satisfaction and handle any complaints.
    • Support the team in delivering excellent and timely service.
    • Monitor guest feedback and suggest improvements.
  3. Staff Supervision & Training:
    • Help with scheduling task assignments and daily briefings.
    • Provide on-the-job training and coaching for junior team members.
    • Monitor staff performance and support performance evaluations.
  4. Inventory & Cost Control:
    • Assist in ordering receiving and controlling food and beverage stock.
    • Minimize waste and track usage to support cost control measures.
    • Maintain accurate inventory records.
  5. Coordination & Communication:
    • Act as a liaison between the outlet and kitchen stewarding and other departments.
    • Support the Outlet Manager in implementing promotions and events.
    • Prepare and submit reports as required (sales incidents shift summary).
  6. Compliance & Hygiene:
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene standards.
    • Conduct regular inspections to maintain cleanliness and organization.

Qualifications:

  • 2 years of F&B supervisory experience.
  • Familiarity with service standards and POS systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory and basic financial reporting is a plus.
