- Perform visual inspection of welds and piping components in accordance with ASME API or project-specific codes.
- Monitor piping fabrication and installation activities to ensure compliance with approved Isometrics P&IDs and WPS (Welding Procedure Specifications).
- Inspect and verify fit-up root pass welding processes and weld consumables.
- Review and ensure proper use of WPS WPQR and Welder Qualifications before work starts.
- Ensure materials used conform to project requirements and Material Test Certificates (MTCs).
- Witness hydrostatic pneumatic and other pressure tests as per inspection and test plans (ITPs).
- Monitor and record NDT activities (RT UT PT MT) and ensure timely reporting of results.
- Review and verify punch lists and ensure proper rectification before system handover.
- Prepare and maintain detailed inspection reports NCRs and progress tracking.
- Interface with clients third-party inspectors and construction teams during inspections.
- Participate in audits QA/QC meetings and support final documentation (dossiers QC packages).
Requirements
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Valid CSWIP 3.1 Welding Inspector certification (TWI/UK).
- 10 years of experience as a piping or welding inspector in oil & gas refinery or heavy industry projects.
- Strong knowledge of piping systems welding techniques and related standards (ASME B31.3 B31.1 API 570 API 650).
- Familiarity with inspection tools QA/QC procedures and ITPs.
- Basic understanding of NDT methods and their application.
- Good command of English (spoken and written) with strong reporting/documentation skills.
- Safety awareness and understanding of site HSE practices.
