WHY JOIN WFP

Accountabilities/Responsibilities

1. Contribute to the development of systems and tools that support effective OIM performance reporting and inter-agency information management in line with WFP and UN policies and practices.

2. Provide technical advice and oversight to Country Offices on the integration of OIM & PR policies and guidance into established systems to drive the quality consistency standardization of information management and performance reporting across WFP.

3. Support Country Offices in drafting high-level briefs and presenting operational information to the WFP leadership group. This includes products such as Executive Director Operational Topic Briefs and Meeting Briefs.

4. Support Country Offices in the preparation review and publication of monthly corporate reporting products such as Country Briefs Internal/External Situation Reports and others as required. This includes working Country Offices to regularly collect monthly beneficiary data to inform corporate reports and beyond.

5. Lead or contribute to the production of the Operational Overview Dashboard for the Regional Director and collate data from other units within the Regional Bureau and Country Offices.

6. Support initiatives and projects that advance the introduction and use of corporate data analytics platforms (WFP DOTS) and visualization tools (Tableau) to support the advancement of operational analysis and to make operational information readily available to Regional Bureau management.

7. Support with the preparation and implementation of the Annual Country Report (ACR) exercise in collaboration with the Country Office and Regional Bureau programme monitoring & evaluation and supply chain functions to ensure consistency and overall quality of information.

8. Collate analyze and communicate the Essential Elements of Information pertaining to the operational environment and available human financial and physical assets to facilitate access to timely and accurate information used at country regional and corporate level.

9. Collate and disseminate information from media and local internal and external sources to maximize the exchange of information between units in WFP (Country Office Regional Bureau and/or HQ) providing operational awareness and understanding of events that may have humanitarian and/or operational impact.

10. Collaborate with counterparts in the Regional Bureau HQ other UN agencies to ensure consistency in operational and beneficiary data humanitarian information and to complement WFP analysis and information.

11. Collaborate with counterparts in WFP HQ divisions to ensure an aligned and consistent approach to information management analysis and performance reporting.

12. Enhance the capacity of WFP staff partners and governments to effectively manage operational information and performance reporting through the provision of the relevant OIM & PR guidance.

13. Participate as task force/working group member to define Corporate Performance Reporting Improvements.

14. Contribute to the development of OIM & PR related normative guidance as required. Support initiatives for developing improved streamlined and harmonized OIM & PR.

15. Contribute to the development implementation and assurance of defined quality standards in all processes and products.

16. Other as required

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Education: Advanced University degree in Political Science Economics Statistics Information Management or Journalism Business Management Social Sciences or other relevant fields or First University degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training/courses.

Experience: Typically three - five years of postgraduate professional experience in a relevant field of work with a background and interest in international humanitarian development. Experience in COs with reporting responsibility is an asset. Sound theoretical understanding of OIM concepts and principles with a broad knowledge of best practices techniques and processes. Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyse and interpret information and draw out key messages. Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to clearly articulate insights to stakeholders in WFP and other audiences.

Languages: Fluency (level C) in English. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official language: Arabic Chinese French Russian Spanish and/or WFPs working language Portuguese.
