VAM Systems is currently looking for Database Architect DB2 & PostgreSQL for our Bahrain operations with the following skillsets & terms and conditions:
Requirements:
- Minimum of 710 years in database administration with strong expertise in IBM DB2 (including HADR TSA and performance tuning) in high-availability mission-critical environments.
- 2 years of exposure to PostgreSQL including query performance and tuning.
- Proven experience in production-grade database transitions and support.
- Strong understanding of database security HA/DR and backup strategies.
- Ability to coordinate with application infrastructure and vendor teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support IBM DB2 environments including installation configuration HADR (High Availability Disaster Recovery) TSA (Tivoli System Automation) Pacemaker and DB2MON for performance and health monitoring.
- Perform database performance analysis query tuning and proactive monitoring to ensure optimal system performance and availability.
- Manage AWS-hosted PostgreSQL environments including configuration administration and performance tuning with a focus on stability and cloud best practices.
- Validate and document current DB configurations stored procedures replication models and performance settings.
- Support ongoing database operations including backup and recovery procedures SQL query optimization patching and upgrades across environments.
- Design and implement best practices for BAU operations monitoring and failover handling.
- Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to ensure database solutions meet performance scalability and compliance requirements.
