Job title: North Africa Sales Head (Morocco Algeria & Tunisia)

Reporting to: Head of Middle East & Africa Baxter Kidney Care (Vantive)

The Head of North Africa is responsible for driving the growth and development of Baxter Kidney Care (Vantive) in Algeria Morocco and Tunisia. This role focuses on the strategic direction of sales and marketing teams both directly and through distributors while ensuring strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders. The incumbent will manage the expansion of Acute therapies the development of Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) and the implementation of a new Hemodialysis (HD) business model across the three countries. This role carries full accountability for the regions sales profitability and SG&A (Selling General and Administrative) expenses. The Head of North Africa will lead the organization to achieve short and longterm P&L objectives foster operational efficiency and ensure compliance with regulatory and ethical standards

The role requires leading by example building highperforming teams inspiring collaboration and representing Baxter Kidney Care (Vantive) at the highest levels with external stakeholders including governments regulators and healthcare leaders.

Key Accountabilities

  • Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute growth strategies to drive market share and profitability for Baxter Kidney Care (Vantive)s Acute PD and HD portfolios.

  • Define and implement tailored strategies for Algeria Morocco and Tunisia to meet short and longterm financial and operational goals.

  • Translate regional objectives into actionable plans including sales marketing and market development strategies.

  • Acute Therapies Expansion

  • Lead efforts to grow the Acute therapies portfolio (e.g. Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy CRRT) across ICUs in Algeria Morocco and Tunisia.

  • Engage with critical care stakeholders to enhance product adoption and ensure market access.

  • PD Therapy Development

  • Expand the Peritoneal Dialysis business by increasing patient penetration and improving therapy accessibility in all three countries.

  • Drive initiatives to enhance clinical adoption of PD using tools like Sharesource for optimized patient management.

  • New HD Business Model Implementation

  • Develop and implement a transformative Hemodialysis (HD) business model to enhance market penetration and operational efficiency.

  • Tailor the HD approach to address the unique healthcare needs and dynamics of Algeria Morocco and Tunisia.

  • Market and Business Development

  • Identify new business opportunities and drive market access improvements to increase funding for therapies.

  • Prepare for new product launches including Citrate and Extraneal and oversee their successful introduction and growth.

  • Customer and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) healthcare providers and government authorities.

  • Represent Baxter Kidney Care (Vantive) in discussions with regulatory bodies industry organizations and key customers.

  • Distributor Management

  • Oversee distributor relationships including contract negotiation performance tracking and renewal.

  • Align distributor operations with Baxter Kidney Care (Vantive)s strategic goals to maximize performance.

  • Operational and Financial Management

  • Monitor sales forecasts financial performance and SG&A budgets to achieve revenue and profitability targets.

  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and internal policies.

  • Team Leadership and Development

  • Lead coach and develop local sales and marketing teams fostering a culture of accountability empowerment and continuous learning.

  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to optimize resources and improve operational efficiency.

Projects and Strategic Focus

  • Acute and PD Therapy Expansion

  • Drive market penetration for Acute therapies and PD in Algeria Morocco and Tunisia by engaging with ICUs and dialysis centers.

  • New HD Model Implementation

  • Roll out a new Hemodialysis business model tailored to the market needs of North Africa focusing on innovation and efficiency.

  • Distributor Alignment

  • Manage and optimize distributor transitions ensuring seamless alignment with company goals.

  • MarketSpecific Strategies

  • Develop and execute countryspecific plans to address local healthcare dynamics and maximize the impact of Baxter Kidney Care (Vantive)s portfolio.

  • Process Simplification

  • Streamline operational processes such as pricing approvals and contract renewals to enhance efficiency and transparency.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors degree in Business Marketing Medical Sciences or related field. MBA preferred.

  • Experience: 15 years in sales and marketing with significant experience in healthcare or pharmaceuticals including leadership roles.

  • Expertise: Proven track record in managing medical devices.

  • Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the healthcare market in North Africa.

  • Languages: Fluency in English French and Arabic is essential.

  • Travel: Willingness to travel extensively within the region

Skills & Competencies

  • Strategic Leadership: Ability to align regional strategies with organizational goals and deliver results.

  • Sales and Marketing Expertise: Proven success in driving growth.

  • Distributor and Stakeholder Management: Expertise in managing distributors and building relationships with key healthcare stakeholders.

  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of P&L management cost control and ROI optimization.

  • Digital Proficiency: Experience with tools like TrueVue Analytics to enhance performance.

  • Project Management: Skilled in leading largescale projects like distributor transitions and market expansions.

  • Communication and Negotiation: Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills for managing complex relationships.

  • People Management: Proven ability to lead mentor and develop highperforming teams.

As of February 1 Baxter has completed the sale of its Kidney Care business which will now operate as Vantive. Today this job is within a Vantive deferred market which means that the employer of record for this role will initially be Baxter. When the applicable legal entity in country goes live the employer of record for the role will transition to Vantive. Vantive builds upon on our nearly 70year legacy in acute therapies and home and incenter dialysis to provide bestinclass care to the people we serve.
