The English Foundation ProgramatAIU Kuwaitinvites applicationsfor fulltimeESL/EFLfaculty. AIUwelcomes faculty with a vision of excellence in instruction and a commitment to students academic success.
Education
- Masters degree in TESOL TEFL orApplied Linguistics preferred
PreferredQualifications
- 23 years of prior teaching experience in an Intensive English program preferably outside the U.S.
- Demonstrated experience using a range of teaching methods instructional materials and forms of assessment
- Experience teaching multilevel classes or EAP courses such as Business English or testpreparation
- PriorESL/EFLteaching experience at the collegeor university level
Essential JobResponsibilities
- Teacha maximum of 20contact hours per week
- Hold a minimum of fiveoffice hours per week
- Prepare teaching materials and assess student performance for assigned courses
- Participate in department campusandcrosscollegemeetings and committees
- Provide student guidancetodevelop academic habits for college success
- Submit studentattendance and grade records
- Assist with pre and postsemester language proficiency testing and scoring
- Assist with tasks related to student placement advising registration orientationcurriculum development and textbook selection
- Participate in professional development activities
- Perform other academic and administrative dutiesasassignedto provide a highquality learning experience for students
