Cultivate Literary Excellence and Advanced Academic Skills as Our High School ELA Teacher
Are you a passionate educator dedicated to fostering a love of literature and empowering students to excel in rigorous academic environments As a High School ELA Teacher you will guide students in developing advanced critical thinking sophisticated communication skills and a profound appreciation for diverse literary and intellectual works including the challenges of the AP Capstone program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver engaging standardsaligned lesson plans that encompass literature writing grammar and language skills fostering both analytical and creative abilities.
- Integrate AP Seminar skills (research argumentation presentation) within the ELA curriculum preparing students for success in the AP Capstone program and beyond.
- Develop and implement curriculum that challenges students to engage deeply with complex texts promoting advanced literary analysis and interpretation.
- Assess and evaluate student performance through a variety of methods including assignments tests projects and APstyle assessments providing timely and constructive feedback to support their academic growth.
- Create an inclusive and intellectually stimulating classroom environment that encourages active participation respectful discourse and diverse perspectives.
- Collaborate with colleagues and parents to support student success and address individual learning needs particularly within the demands of advanced coursework.
- Guide students in the development of sophisticated research and writing skills essential for success in college and beyond.
- Bachelors degree in Education with a major in English or a related field.
- Proven experience as a high school English teacher or similar role.
- Demonstrated experience or a strong understanding of the AP Capstone program specifically AP Seminar and its integration within an ELA curriculum.
- Strong communication classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- A passion for fostering literary excellence and advanced academic skills in high school students.
- Experience with advanced placement (AP) coursework is highly desired.
