The Vacuum Valve Repair Technician is responsible for conducting inspections repairs and maintenance of vacuum valves to ensure that they function properly in industrial systems. This role demands technical expertise in the disassembly cleaning troubleshooting and calibration of vacuum valves as well as a deep understanding of mechanical systems and vacuum technologies. Technicians will be required to maintain the highest levels of operational efficiency safety and compliance while contributing to the teams success in meeting repair and maintenance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspection & Evaluation: Conduct thorough inspections of vacuum valves to identify wear damage or malfunctioning components. Ensure the proper operation of valves in various industrial applications diagnosing issues before they become critical.
- Disassembly & Cleaning: Disassemble vacuum valves using specialized tools and equipment. Clean components thoroughly following manufacturer guidelines maintaining integrity and safety during the process.
- Component Replacement: Replace faulty components such as seals springs diaphragms and other parts to restore vacuum valves to optimal working conditions ensuring operational reliability.
- Calibration: Calibrate vacuum valves according to precise specifications ensuring maximum efficiency in system operations.
- Documentation & Reporting: Document all repair and maintenance activities including parts replaced calibration settings and any troubleshooting performed. Provide clear and concise reports that comply with safety operational and regulatory standards.
- Collaboration with Engineers: Work closely with engineers to troubleshoot system failures sharing insights on potential issues root causes and recommendations for improvements or preventive measures.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts tools and necessary equipment. Ensure readiness for immediate repair needs and efficient workflow.
- Preventive Maintenance: Implement and follow preventive maintenance schedules to reduce the occurrence of breakdowns. Proactively address potential system issues to prevent costly repairs and downtime.
- Training & Mentorship: Assist in training and mentoring junior technicians teaching best practices safety protocols and proper repair techniques for vacuum valves.
- Continuous Learning: Stay informed on industry trends technological advancements and new techniques to continuously improve repair processes and enhance the quality of service.
Qualifications :
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in mechanical engineering industrial maintenance or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Proven experience in vacuum valve repair or similar mechanical repair roles. Experience with vacuum systems or related components is highly desirable.
- Skills:
- Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and solve complex mechanical problems.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings schematics and repair manuals.
- Proficiency with hand tools power tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Knowledge of vacuum systems and their components including pumps valves and seals.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining highquality standards.
- Excellent problemsolving and troubleshooting skills especially in highpressure environments.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Effective communication skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to maintain a high level of organization in a fastpaced dynamic environment.
Additional Information :
- Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in mechanical repair and industrial environments.
- Willingness to work flexible hours including overtime and oncall shifts as needed.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks including lifting bending and standing for extended periods.
Working Conditions
- The role may involve working in industrial or manufacturing environments where noise levels and safety hazards may be present. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn at all times.
- Ability to work in various conditions including potentially challenging temperatures and lighting while adhering to all safety standards.
