Senior Residential Child Care Officer - Sunderland

Medsolve are currently hiring for an amazing company who are looking for full time dedicated Senior Residential Childcare officer to join their ever expanding Residential Children s Home provisions within the North Tyneside area all of which have now been rated GOOD by Ofsted as of August 2021.

This is a Permanent role and we offer a salary of 13.00 per hour. Please note we do NOT offer sponsorship.

Our client provides person centred support and care for children and young people between the ages of 7 and 18 years with a variety of different needs and requirements.

The Senior Residential Childcare officer will be responsible for the overseeing of each shift and will provide first line management and supervision to the Residential Childcare Officers on duty to ensure that children and young people within residence receive the best care and support possible. The Senior RCCO will report directly to the Deputy Manager & Registered Manager.

The person specification/ requirements of the Senior Residential Childcare officer:

• Have a minimum of 1 years experience in a Senior / Team leader role.
  
• Residential Childcare experience is Desirable but Senior & Team Leader experience in other Health & Social Care environments will be considered.
  
• Hold a minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or an equivalent qualification.
  
• Be Committed to achieving the best for children and young people.
  
• Be able to prioritise work load and duties.
  
• Be experienced in leading and delegating to the team on duty.
  
• Be confident in regard to decision making and accountability.
  
• Be able to work towards achieving the best outcomes of children and young people in line with the Care Quality Standards
  
• Have an understanding of Care Plans Risk Assessments and completing these documents.
  
• Have an understanding of the Care Quality Standards and The Childrens Homes Regulations (England) 2015.
  
• Be able to Safeguard and protect the wellbeing of children and young people at all times and ensure that RCCOs carry out their duties appropriately at all times.
  
• Work collaboratively with other Senior RCCOs and management to ensure the service meets the required standard.
  
• Be willing to complete training as required.
  
• Be confident in challenging inappropriate practise and standards and have a thorough understanding of Safeguarding Procedures.
  
• Be able to communicate professionally both with staff members and professionals.
  
• Be outgoing caring and compassionate.
  
• Be able to advocate for the needs wishes and views of the young people and children we care for.
