Finance Manager

What we are looking for

We are looking for an entrepreneurial experienced Finance Manager who wants to help disrupt the food ecosystem in East Africa. We are looking to grow our product and help millions of people ensure they have food at the end of the day. We are looking for an individual who can oversee all business financial aspects and drive the companys financial strategy and planning. You will assist the CEO in making financial decisions and advise on current company performance. This Is a unique position with a ton of growth opportunities (with a proven track record); this position will report directly to the CEO/Founder. Its an opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a business starting to disrupt the agricultural sector across East Africa and an opportunity to help build and shape a business for years to come.

What does the job involve

• Assist with budget preparation and ongoing management
• Retaining constant awareness of the companys financial position and acting to prevent problems.
• Conduct monthly closing and inventory stock take
• Reconcile transactions against receipts and manage expenditure approvals (through approval max)
• Cooperate with external auditors to ensure audits are conducted in a timely manner
• Prepare timely and detailed reports on financial performance on a quarterly and annual basis to share with investors
• Ensure adherence to financial law and guidelines
• Collect and conduct monthly tax remittance to Kenyan authorities to ensure compliance with all local laws and requirements
• Conduct adhoc analyses as required/requested
• Ensure financial controls and systems are adequately implemented

Qualifications

• 5 years of direct financial experience across topics including audit accounting budget management P&L tracking etc.
• Will have led finance teams through monthly/annual book closings and reconciliations
• Will have a deep understanding of financial ratios and metrics (e.g. DSO DPO) and can leverage ratios to identify key opportunities to maximize current cash position
• Can write and enforce financial policies and procedures (e.g. converting to Net 60 payment schedule) and can independently identify opportunities to improve current financial performance
• Will support external audits (as needed)
• Strong team leadership and people development skills you want others to succeed around you and enable that through servant leadership
• Can prioritize important tasks and ensure that in a world where everything is urgent the most important things are done
• Has experience budgeting and managing costs to a budget ensuring no overages and problem solving opportunities with leadership
• Strong problemsolving toolkit with a positive attitude entrepreneurial drive is key to tackle all the challenges faced
• Should be proficient in Microsoft Office especially Excel PPT and Outlook
