Job Description:

Broad Capital Markets technology domain experience i.e. OMS / EMS RFQ engines Algo Frameworks Market Connectivity Trade Processing Settlement

Capital Markets Technology (QTS) has embarked on major transformation programs across various functional pillars including pretrade trade processing risk data intelligence operations across asset classes globally.
The objective of the Technical Architecture Developer role is to create strong technology standards / patterns / practices create reference implementations and investigate new technologies such as generative AI which can provide commercial value.
WHAT WILL YOU DO
Development and Design

Analyze priority technologies and make determinations on strategic fit.

Document technical standards / patterns / practices.

Develop common reference implementations that can be consumed by development teams.

Facilitate technical meetings/dialogue on topics with the development community to gain insights and perspectives on standards.

Governance & Oversight

Manage risks leveraging support from and timely escalation if required.

Apply change management process excellence project management and consultation to resolve issues.

Routinely provide inflight status updates and proactively seek resolution on open items.

Apply consistent governance and monitoring across all groups.

Leadership & People Management

Work collectively with all resources in and outside the team.

Ensure performance reflects the status of the entire group.

Conduct effectively and prioritize and actively manage capacity.

Continue to grow the professional capabilities to enable individual and groups success.

Participate in initiatives to drive RBC core values collaboration diversity and build teamwork.

Success & Performance Metrics

Drive definition of metrics to achieve the strategic goals and ensure each team meets their efficiency target savings. Engage stakeholders in preparing engaging and interesting content.

Improve the metrics to stakeholder satisfaction; conduct surveys; publish metrics on a regular basis in the materials produced.

Create coordinate and distribute internal communications content across internal digital channels such as CMWeb RBCNet and RBC Connect.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
Must have:

5 years development experience in Capital Markets technology organizations.

2 years experience developing horizontal technology solutions.

Strong communication and presentation skills.

Deep handson technology design and implementation experience in Capital Market domains:

Ultralow latency technology i.e. messaging caching gc etc.

High volume technologies i.e. fan out market data aggregation etc.

Data stores i.e. data lake nosql saas full text search etc.

UI technologies i.e. html5 react angular next.js

Cloud / container platforms

Dev ops pipeline / tooling

General architecture principals including resilience scalability security extensibility etc.
