PostgreSQL (Backend Developer)

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient and secure PostgreSQL database schemas
• Develop backend functionalities using PostgreSQL as the main database
• Optimize and tune SQL queries for improved performance
• Conduct database maintenance backups and disaster recovery procedures
• Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to integrate backend systems with frontend components
• Implement data security and access control measures within PostgreSQL databases
• Resolve databaserelated issues and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks
• Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior developers
• Participate in the planning and execution of database migrations and upgrades
• Document database design architecture and processes
• Stay updated with PostgreSQL best practices and emerging technologies
• Contribute to performance testing and optimization of backend systems
• Support software deployments and productionrelated activities
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure database stability and uptime
• Participate in oncall rotation for databaserelated incidents

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field
• Proven experience as a backend developer with a focus on PostgreSQL
• Expertise in SQL and database design principles
• Demonstrated proficiency in query optimization and performance tuning
• Strong understanding of indexing and querying strategies in PostgreSQL
• Experience in designing and implementing database security measures
• Proficiency in data migration and replication techniques in PostgreSQL
• Knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Understanding of software development lifecycle and agile methodologies
• Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills
• Ability to collaborate in a team environment and communicate effectively
• Familiarity with backend frameworks and programming languages (e.g. Node.js Python Java)
• Knowledge of continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices
• Experience with cloudbased PostgreSQL solutions is a plus
