Job Description

Virtualization Operations Engineer (Windows/VMware & Hyper-V)

Summary A Wintel and Virtualization L3 engineer will be responsible for the Wintel track operations and will own the Administration and Maintenance of the Windows, VMWare, and Hyper-V infrastructure.

Responsibilities include:

Regularly recommend strategies to improve virtualization levels

Recommend and Implement strategies to improve server efficiency.

Identify migration requirements from old to new equipment, including equipment cascades where applicable

Recommend and implement best practices.

Advanced Administration of VMware and Hyper-V virtual infrastructure, HA, DRS, Datastore and Networking(vSS/vDS, SRM

Maintain and update vCenter/ESXi/Hyper-V Virtual infrastructure

Maintain and Troubleshoot vSphere replication appliances

Installing, configuring, and maintaining Windows Operating System

Installation and management of windows and Hyper-V Clusters

Fine-tune the Windows Operating system for optimal performance

Implementation of Windows based DHCP services.

Troubleshooting Clusters and related issues in a SAN environment

Troubleshooting issues related to Hypervisor Hardware

Work with DR and Applications teams to define technical steps for DR Drills.

Co-ordinate with Software and hardware OEM/Vendors for upgrades and new implementations.

Regular analysis of Monitoring parameters and recommend changes to parameters and thresholds.
