Remote Java Developer (Java 8 features and Spring/Spring Boot/ORM)

Turing.com is looking for a Java Developer on behalf of a fast-growing financial analyst and appraisal firm that provides organisations with appraisal, consultancy, and assessment services by combining education, expertise, and technology. The selected candidate will be working with engineers/leads to track enhancements/fixes as they progress through the development cycle. Job Responsibilities:

• Design and develop enterprise grade event driven Microservices with Spring Boot

• Close the loop and inform internal and external stakeholders of the outcome

• Identify/prioritize optimizations for the development team - describe, document, and explain everything properly

• Collaborate closely with the development team to define and measure improvements based on feedback, as well as to implement automated testing to ensure consistent and dependable service quality

• Involved in the correction of all levels of defects that occurred during the testing and production phases

• Work with cross-platform teams to collaborate and integrate

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science (or equivalent experience)

• At least 3+ years of relevant experience as a software developer

• Excellent understanding of Java 8 features, Spring/Spring-boot/ORM

• Design patterns, algorithms, data structures, and object-oriented programming

• Prior experience with Event-Driven, DDD (Domain Driven Design) and Micro services architecture

• Knowledge of Relational Databases like Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL and Restful Web Services

• Solid understanding of Scrum/Agile methodologies

• Ability to understand and build complex systems to solve challenging analytical problems

• Solid background in the design and development of Java-based applications

• Knowledge of Spring/Spring-boot/ORM in depth

• Working knowledge of full-stack Java and multi-tier distributed web applications

• Experience converting requirements into software design and implementing a web-based SOA architecture is advantageous

• Experience with on-demand or SaaS is a bonus

• Experience with online advertising or large-scale workflow systems is advantageous, but not needed
