Senior Safety Engineer

Location: Doha Qatar

Employment Type: 1-Year Contract (Extendable)
Working Hours: 8 hours/day 6 days/week

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Safety Engineer to oversee and enforce health safety and environmental (HSE) compliance on major roads and infrastructure projects. The candidate will play a key role in ensuring that all site activities are executed safely and in accordance with project specifications local regulations and international safety standards.

• Lead and implement HSE policies and procedures across road and infrastructure project sites
• Monitor and ensure compliance with project safety plans method statements and risk assessments
• Conduct regular site safety inspections audits and risk assessments for:
  • Road works and highways
  • Earthworks and excavation
  • Utilities and drainage works
  • Traffic diversions and temporary works
• Identify hazards unsafe practices and potential risks; ensure timely corrective actions
• Review and approve Method Statements (MS) Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and Risk Assessments (RA)
• Lead and coordinate incident/accident investigations root cause analysis and reporting
• Ensure proper implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems
• Conduct safety inductions toolbox talks and training sessions for site personnel
• Monitor contractor compliance with HSE requirements and safety KPIs
• Liaise with consultants contractors and client representatives on safety matters
• Ensure compliance with local authority regulations and international HSE standards
• Maintain accurate safety records reports and documentation
• Support emergency response planning and execution on site

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant field
• Minimum 12 years of HSE experience with strong focus on roads and infrastructure projects
• Proven experience working on:
  • Roads / highways
  • Infrastructure / utilities / drainage projects
• GCC experience is mandatory (Qatar preferred)
• Strong knowledge of:
  • HSE regulations and best practices
  • Risk assessment and hazard identification
  • Incident investigation techniques
• Experience with permit-to-work systems safety audits and compliance monitoring
• Professional certifications such as:
  • NEBOSH IGC (mandatory)
  • IOSH / OSHA certifications (preferred)
• Familiarity with Ashghal / local Qatar HSE standards is an advantage
• Strong leadership communication and reporting skills

• Previous experience on Ashghal or large-scale infrastructure projects
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and large site teams
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities
