The Pest Control Supervisor – Entomology is responsible for overseeing pest management operations with a focus on insect identification monitoring and control strategies. The role involves conducting field inspections analyzing pest infestations recommending appropriate pest control methods training staff and maintaining accurate records and entomological reference collections to ensure effective pest management and compliance with health and safety standards.
1. Pest Monitoring & Field Surveys
Conduct field surveys and inspections to detect identify and classify insect pests.
Monitor pest activity levels and assess infestation risks in facilities and surrounding environments.
Evaluate environmental factors contributing to pest infestations.
2. Pest Identification & Analysis
Analyze insect damage or potential threats caused by pests.
Identify pest species using entomological knowledge and reference materials.
Recommend effective pest management and integrated pest control strategies.
3. Pest Control Operations
Supervise pest control technicians and ensure proper application of pest control methods.
Ensure safe and compliant use of pesticides and pest control equipment.
Implement Integrated Pest Management (IPM) techniques where applicable.
4. Training & Staff Guidance
Provide training and technical guidance to pest control staff on pest identification and treatment methods.
Educate teams on safe handling of chemicals and pest control procedures.
5. Documentation & Reporting
Maintain accurate records of pest surveys inspections and treatments conducted.
Prepare detailed reports on pest activity control measures implemented and outcomes.
Maintain and update entomological reference collections and documentation.
6. Compliance & Safety
Ensure pest control activities comply with local regulations environmental standards and safety guidelines.
Conduct risk assessments related to pest control operations.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Entomology Agriculture Biology or related field.
Professional certification in Pest Control or Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of experience in pest control or entomology-related roles.
Experience in facility management agriculture public health pest control or environmental services is an advantage.
Experience supervising pest control teams is preferred.
Strong knowledge of insect taxonomy and pest identification
