Assistant Maintenance Manager Tasks Maritime & Facility Maintenance

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Heavy Equipment Management:
   • Oversee maintenance repair and servicing of maritime heavy equipment including reach stackers straddle carriers empty container handlers forklifts heavy diesel trucks and petrol vehicles.
   • Schedule and supervise routine checks preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
     
2. Facility Maintenance Oversight:
   • Ensure operational readiness and upkeep of warehouses workshops offices and yard facilities.
   • Manage maintenance activities related to electrical systems plumbing HVAC structural repairs and general infrastructure.
     
3. Operational Coordination:
   • Coordinate closely with operations teams to minimize downtime and ensure efficient scheduling of equipment maintenance.
   • Respond swiftly to urgent operational maintenance requirements in the container yard warehouses and workshop.
     
4. Workshop and Yard Management:
   • Supervise the maintenance workshop operations ensuring a safe organized and efficient work environment.
   • Regularly inspect maintenance practices performed within the yard and workshop to adhere to safety and quality standards.
     
5. Parts Inventory and Procurement:
   • Maintain optimal inventory levels for spare parts tools lubricants and consumables required for equipment and facility maintenance.
   • Coordinate procurement activities ensuring timely availability of necessary maintenance supplies.
     
6. Staff Management & Training:
   • Supervise maintenance technicians and support staff assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
   • Organize training sessions on equipment handling maintenance protocols and safety practices.
     
7. Documentation and Reporting:
   • Maintain comprehensive records of equipment maintenance schedules repair histories inventory logs and compliance documentation.
   • Prepare periodic maintenance performance reports highlighting issues solutions and improvement recommendations.
     
8. Safety Compliance:
   • Enforce adherence to safety standards and regulations within maintenance activities.
   • Implement preventive safety measures and ensure maintenance staff compliance with company safety protocols.
     
9. Continuous Improvement:
   • Identify opportunities for improving equipment reliability reducing downtime and optimizing maintenance processes.
   • Recommend and implement improvements in maintenance techniques equipment upgrades and operational procedures.
     

Applicant Requirements:

• Must possess extensive experience with heavy maritime equipment such as reach stackers straddle carriers empty container handlers forklifts diesel trucks and petrol vehicles.
• Strong knowledge of facility maintenance in warehouse and maritime environments.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively under pressure handling multiple priorities efficiently.
