We are looking for an experienced Tarmac Roller Operative to join our team on a busy projects in the Kent Region. You will be responsible for operating ride-on rollers to compact asphalt safely and efficiently ensuring a high-quality finish in line with project specifications across both machine lay and hand lay surfacing works.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Operating ride-on rollers safely and efficiently to compact asphalt surfaces
Ensuring correct compaction of tarmac in line with specifications and required tolerances
Working closely with paver operators screwmen rakehands and foremen
Following behind the paver to achieve a smooth even and durable finish
Carrying out daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance on plant equipment
Monitoring surface conditions and adjusting rolling patterns as required
Ensuring all works are completed safely and in accordance with RAMS
Maintaining high standards of health safety and environmental compliance
Assisting the gang with general site duties when required
Keeping plant clean and in good working condition at all times
REQUIREMENTS:
Valid CPCS or NPORS (CSCS-affiliated) Ride-On Roller Ticket
Proven experience operating ride-on rollers on tarmac surfacing works
Good understanding of asphalt compaction techniques and surfacing processes
Ability to work effectively within machine lay and hand lay gangs
Strong awareness of health and safety practices on site
Reliable punctual and able to work in a fast-paced environment
Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying conditions
Right to work in the UK
DESIRABLE:
Experience working on highways or large-scale infrastructure projects Additional plant tickets (e.g. Dumper Paver Excavator)
CSCS card if not already included with plant qualification
Strong understanding of different asphalt types and finishes
Experience working within established surfacing gangs
