SO2 Any Sense Any Shoot

A vacancy has arisen for a Sqn Ldr and Any to serve as SO2 ASAS at HWY on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 08 September 2026.

Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) against an evolving air and missile threat spectrum is one of Defences current highest priorities. It is a broad functional area that encompasses the Grand-Strategic/X-Gov and Military-Strategic/MOD levels down to the military task (delivery/execution). Each level has different stakeholders and constructs.

Specific to the military task within IAMD - Airs core role of Control of the Air encompasses joint Counter-air missions to counter air and missile threats. Air is nominated as lead Command for the military execution of IAMD in the joint shared Air domain.

SO2 Any Sensor Any Shooter will work to SO1 IAMD in support of Defence activity to counter air and missile threats and through Air domain C4. The role will fall under AH Integration Air Cap Strat (OF5) working to Air Cap Strat Head (1*) under Air Cap Director Programs (2*) area of responsibility. You will be responsible for:

• The execution of IAMD-related operational analysis (OA) icw ASWC RCO and Industry.
• Supporting the 3* IAMD SG-tasked IAMD Capability Investigation.
• Providing Air SQEP and support to directed IAMD-themed taskings.
• Interfacing with Defence and joint IAMD stakeholders (military industrial procurement and S&T) as required.
• Identifying and highlighting efficiencies and cross-over between IAMD enterprise enablers and other non-IAMD-related missions and roles; to avoid a stove-piped organisational IAMD response.
• Tracking all outcomes and direction from 3* IAMD SG 1* IAMD Board and relevant Military Capability Boards (MCB).
• Acting as Air contact for Industry and Academic events such as RUSI IAMD conferences.
