Senior Stress Engineer

Were looking for a Senior/Principal Stress Engineer who is ready to take the next step into a technical and capability leadership role helping to strengthen grow and develop our UK stress engineering community.

This is a hybrid role: youll deliver high-value technical work for clients while also shaping the direction tools talent and strategy of our stress capability.

Your mission:

•  Lead complex stress and structural integrity assessments using FEA and hand calculations
• Review and approve technical work representing Assystem confidently with clients
• Mentor and develop engineers building future stress specialists
• Drive capability growth training methods best practices recruitment and retention
• Support bids and business development working closely with Engineering Directors and Sales
• Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams in the nuclear and defence sectors

Qualifications :

What Youll Bring:

• Lead build and guide a community of highly skilled stress engineers 
• Strong background in stress analysis / structural integrity
• Expertise in FEA (ABAQUS ANSYS etc.) and relevant assessment codes (ASME BS7910 R6 etc.)
• Experience in the nuclear or similar highly regulated sector
• Chartered Engineer status (CEng) or working toward it
• Ability to develop and implement technical strategy and capability development

Additional Information :

Due to the nature of work to be undertaken applicants will be required to meet certain residency criteria in order to attain a minimum level of UK security clearance if not already security cleared to a minimum SC level.
