Senior Network Engineer

The Basics

We are seeking a highly skilledSenior Network Engineerwith7 years of experienceto jointheIT Engineeringteam at Tanium. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing implementing and managinga world class network architectureto ensurethe availability security and resiliency of our employee access and systems.

This position follows the Companys hybrid schedule which currently requires employees to work in the office at one of the following locations a minimum of three days per week: Durham NC

What youll do

• Go hands-on with switches firewalls and other network equipment for upgrades break/fix and maintenance as needed.
• Lead the effort to modernize Taniums corporate network infrastructure to support rapid growth and an evolving threat landscape.
• Manage andoptimizea multisite hybrid WAN topology including office locations Colo facilities and cloud providers.
• Plan andoptimizeWireless deployments in office locations
• Collaborate with other technical security and non-technical teams to resolve operational challenges andoptimizenetwork-heavy workflows
• Deploy network monitoring and visibility tooling to proactively sustain network performance
• Handle escalations and troubleshooting related to network services
• Partner with datacenter teams tooptimizenetworking demands related to virtualization and storage.
• Deploy and continuously evaluate Firewall rules and configurations in response to evolving business needs.
• Build andmaintaincomprehensive documentation ofNetwork designs WAN topology and security zones.
• Effectively communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical stakeholders fostering a collaborative and productive working environment.
• Be a solution-oriented team player who has the ambition to continuouslyimprove and add valueforstakeholders across Tanium.

Were looking for someone with

• Education
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science IT or other relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  

• Experience
• 7 yrs experience in a similar role with CCNP certification
• Expert level network troubleshooting skills including familiarity with deep packet analysis tools (i.e.Wireshark)
• Experience with Cisco Secure AccessTailscale or similar ZTNA products
• Direct experienceproviding resilient connectivity to public cloud providers
• Expert understanding of network related services like DNS DHCP BGP IPv6etc
• Experience with Cisco FTD and Meraki devices
• Ability to work in a fast-pacedrapidly growingenvironmentwith minimal coaching

The ideal candidate would also have experience in

• Fundamental infrastructure technologies such as virtualization system automation tooling and common client/server Operating Systems (e.g.Windows Linux MacOS)
• Hands on experience with Tanium
• Ansible TerraformGithub Cloudflare

What youll get

The annual base salary range for this full-time position is $146000 to $224000. This range is an estimate for what Tanium will pay a new hire. The actual annual base salary offered may be adjusted based on a variety of factors including but not limited to location education skills training and experience.
