The electronics division based in Cambridge UK focuses on developing cutting-edge automotive electronics hardware and software. By combining expertise in suspension systems vehicle dynamics mechanisms and mechatronics the company delivers complete solutions such as active suspension active aero and powered door products to its customers.
We are seeking anElectronics Hardware Engineerto join the growing engineering team. This role will involve developing ISO 26262-compliant automotive chassis control products and working across all stages of product development from concept to end-of-life. The team is split between Cambridge (UK) and Toronto (Canada) offering a collaborative global working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Develop the architecture of electronic systems.
Perform circuit design analysis and documentation.
Conduct debugging verification and validation testing.
Take ownership of designs providing solutions to challenges as they arise.
Document designs to ensure long-term product support.
Identify areas for improvement in tools techniques and processes.
Key Requirements
5-10 years of experience in automotive or a similar industry.
Strong foundation in electronic hardware design and embedded systems.
Experience designing products for manufacture.
Familiarity with working to deadlines and strong communication skills.
Highly Desirable Experience
Architectural development of electronic systems.
Circuit design including H-bridge solenoid motor and inductive load interfaces high and low-side MOSFET switches and current sensing.
Microcontroller interfaces and communication protocols such as SPI I2C CAN LIN and Ethernet.
Power supply design (linear and switched-mode).
Analogue circuit simulation and performance prediction.
PCB design layout and routing.
Design for automotive environments reliability and qualification (e.g. EMC and environmental testing).
Desirable Skills
Functionally safe hardware development.
Reliability analysis (e.g. FMEA) and design for manufacture and test.
Writing simple hardware test software.
Qualification in electronics engineering or a closely related discipline.
Tools & Lab Experience
Schematic capture and PCB layout software.
SPICE circuit simulation tools.
Use of lab equipment (oscilloscopes signal generators DMMs etc.).
Soldering of through-hole and SMT components.
