Job Opportunity: Part-Qualified / Newly Qualified Accountant

TPF Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a well-established and growing accountancy practice in the KT area that is looking to recruit a Part-Qualified or Newly Qualified Accountant to join its team.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a firm with a strong corporate client base offering a highly client-facing and hands-on role with exposure to a varied portfolio of businesses across multiple sectors. The Role

As a Part-Qualified / Newly Qualified Accountant you will manage a mixed portfolio of clients and work closely with senior members of the team across accounts tax and advisory assignments.

This is a broad role offering excellent client exposure and the opportunity to continue developing your technical and commercial skills within a supportive practice environment.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts under FRS 105 and FRS 102 1A
  
• Managing a mixed portfolio of clients across a variety of industries
  
• Supporting with corporation tax compliance and related client queries
  
• Assisting clients with cloud accounting software and finance-related matters
  
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns including exposure to partial exemption calculations under guidance from the tax department
  
• Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships
  
• Supporting senior team members with ad-hoc advisory and compliance work
  
• Managing deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently
  
• Working collaboratively across the wider practice team
  

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will likely have:

• ACA or ACCA part-qualified or newly qualified
  
• Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice environment
  
• Strong organisational and portfolio management skills
  
• Experience preparing accounts for a range of clients and industries
  
• Good knowledge of cloud accounting software such as Xero
  
• Experience using CaseWare would be advantageous
  
• Familiarity with TaxCalc would also be beneficial
  
• Some VAT knowledge including exposure to VAT calculations and compliance work
  
• Strong communication skills and confidence working directly with clients
  
• A proactive and professional approach with strong attention to detail
