PROPOSED SALARY RANGE: 27000 - 37000 depending on relevant skills knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
To coordinate and support the delivery of schemes across the UK by managing associated logistical and administrative activities while providing guidance and support. The role acts as a key point of contact for apprentices trainees line managers and stakeholders ensuring a positive learning experience and smooth operation of programmes. It also supports recruitment onboarding and continuous improvement of schemes through collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
WHY JOIN THE TEAM
We are looking for a Schemes Advisor to be a first point of contact and manage administration for the delivery of three of our BBC Apprenticeship Schemes across the UK L3 Production L3 Broadcast & Media Systems Technical Operator and L4 Post Production Technical Operator.
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND IMPACT:
- Managing the logistical and administrative tasks associated with Schemes delivery across the UK and associated activity eg recruitment on-boarding learning and training.
- Maintaining learning records and progress reports for all apprentices and trainees within each of the schemes including documenting any performance concerns.
- Be first point of contact/problem solver for learners pastoral support and advice.
- Assisting the Schemes Specialists/Team to manage schemes requirements liaising with internal Team Leaders and external stakeholders eg Education/Learning Providers.
- Acting as a point of contact/problem solver for BBC line managers who have a query about a trainee or apprentice.
- Assisting BBC Talent Acquisition and Outreach colleagues with regard to talent attraction and initiatives recruitment and assessment.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of the schemes.
YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA:
- Strong judgement in terms of knowing when to deal with issues and when to refer up; able to use own initiative to problem solve.
- Excellent project management/organisational skills e.g. planning organising stakeholder management budgeting time management performance reporting review etc.
- Ability to manage BBC logistical administrative systems (eg. travel and accommodation bookings and Microsoft packages such as Excel PowerPoint etc)
- Able to prioritise and complete tasks when faced with tight deadlines.
- Competent influencer and networker able to communicate concisely and with assurance to different audiences both verbally and in writing.
DESIRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
- Appropriate knowledge of BBC policies procedures systems and guidelines including health and safety and safeguarding.
- Strong appreciation of future workforce/technology trends in Production and Technical Operations and skills profile of new joiners.
- Previous experience and commitment to mentoring/developing young talent.
- Understanding the specific challenges facing young people who are new to the world of work.
- Technical knowledge of apprenticeships.
- Able to build credibility with more senior colleagues in the divisions and externally.
- Event management.
- Understanding of relevant BBC policies and procedures as they relate to developing trainees and apprentices.
