Purpose of the role:

As a SafetyHealthand Environment Apprenticeyoullhelp make sure everyone at work stays safe and the business follows important rules and with different teams across the organisation supporting them to understand risks work safely and protect the environment.


This is a varied role whereyoullsplit your time between working with people on-site and supporting processes behind the experienceinvestigating issues helping run safety training and finding ways to improve how things are done.

Apprenticeship Information:

  • Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship
  • Duration: Approximately 24 months EPA
  • Hours: 40 per week 6am-2pm
  • Annual Salary: 22048 (The advertised salary applies to the first year of the apprenticeship and will increase in the second year subject to satisfactory progress attendance and commitment to the programme)
  • Qualification delivered through an approved training provider
  • Dedicated study time provided as part of your working week
  • Ongoing support from your manager mentor and training provider

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide advice and guidance to managers and employees on healthsafetyand environmental requirements
  • Support the implementation of company policiesproceduresand legal requirements
  • Promote safe and responsible working practices across the organisation
  • Assistinidentifyingworkplace hazards and supporting risk assessments
  • Helpmonitorcompliance with healthsafetyand environmental regulations
  • Support audits inspections and checks to ensure standards are maintained
  • Assistin developingreviewingandmaintainingsafe systems of work
  • Support the implementation of SHE management systems and processes
  • Help ensure procedures are followed consistently across operational activities
  • Support delivery of training sessionsinductionsand toolbox talks
  • Communicate key safety messages clearly to different audiences
  • Help build awareness and understanding of SHE practices across teams
  • Assistin the investigation of accidents incidents and near misses
  • Support gathering information analysingdataandidentifyingtrends
  • Help produce reports and present findings to the management team
  • Identifyopportunities to improve workplace safety and environmental performance
  • Support initiatives that promote a positive safety culture
  • Contribute ideas to improve processesbehavioursand compliance
  • Work closely with managersemployeesand external stakeholders
  • Support building a culture where safety and environmental responsibility are prioritised
  • Influence safe behaviours and challenge unsafe practices where appropriate
  • Complete all required apprenticeship training and off-the-job learning
  • Participate in regular reviews with line manager and training provider
  • Apply learning in the workplace to develop SHE knowledgeskillsand behaviours


Qualifications & Training:

Essential:

Maths and English at Grade 4 orabove (or equivalent of Grade C-A*) or Functional Skills Level 2
