Repairs Officer

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Northamptonshire to assist with the appointment of a Repairs Officer on a 3-month contract likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 21.50 - 34.00 per hour

Summary:

An experienced Repairs Officer Gas is required to support the day-to-day operational management of repairs maintenance and gas compliance services across North Northamptonshire Councils housing portfolio. The role involves supervising repairs and maintenance activities ensuring statutory gas compliance managing contractors and trades teams and delivering a high-quality customer-focused service.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and supervise repairs maintenance and gas-related works across council housing stock
• Ensure compliance with Gas Safety Regulations Health & Safety legislation and landlord obligations
• Undertake surveys inspections and prepare technical specifications and tender documentation
• Carry out pre- and post-inspections and maintain accurate records and audit trails
• Provide technical advice and support to trades teams and contractors

Qualifications:

• Good general education including GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
• Technical qualification and accreditation allowing supervision of gas works
• Gas Safe registration and compliance with The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998

Essential Requirements:

• Strong knowledge of gas compliance property maintenance and construction practices
• Knowledge of asbestos procedures and Health & Safety legislation
• Experience working in customer-focused high-volume environments
• Ability to manage workloads priorities and resources effectively
• Full UK driving licence
• Access to a vehicle for business use
• Willingness to travel and attend meetings when required
