The Role
As a Production Engineer within the allocated Design Team your main role will be delivering design solutions ensuring they are fit for manufacture and effecting tangible improvements to the delivery of the Design & Manufacture teams.

Day-to-day youll explore and test the problem space thoroughly in coordination with the Design & Manufacture teams driving DFX input and be prepared to lead the presentation of DFX at design reviews and group critiques drawing on more senior members knowledge as required.

Your responsibilities will include:

Essential experience of the Production Engineer:

  • We would expect the individual to have an understanding and some experience the following competency areas Coatings Corrosion Materials Science Materials Selection Concept Design & Development
  • Experience designing technical hardware solutions and/or translating these into a manufacturing environment
  • Experience of working within a bespoke/R&D low volume production environment.
  • Significant experience creating manufacturing plans job sheets manufacturing process specifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing engineering fundamentals

Essential qualifications for the Production Engineer:

  • HNC/HND/Degree in Aeronautical Mechanical Engineering Manufacturing Engineering or Production Engineering (or equivalent experience)

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Gosport site with a minimum average site attendance of three days per week.
