Barhale is a business founded on family values having been established by our Chairman Dennis Curran in 1980. We are one of the largest privately owned civil engineering and infrastructure specialists in the UK with over 40 years of experience in providing design civil engineering and maintenance services working across multiple sectors including:

We operate as a tier one partner for blue chip regulated and private clients working as part of large frameworks joint ventures and alliances as well as on individual standalone projects developing long-term relationships based on delivering to the Barhale values which have been integral to our business since their inception in 1985.

Our direct delivery model is at the core of everything we do as we believe that people are our greatest asset. Therefore we robustly source train and retain all our own frontline delivery teams as well as management and support services. We employ over 1200 employees nationwide.

The Role

Were the @one Alliance a ground-breaking collaboration between Anglian Water and seven industry-leading partners: Balfour Beatty Barhale Binnies MMB MWH Treatment Skanska and SWECO. Together we deliver over half of Anglian Waters capital investment programme.

As part of our ambitious investment programme @one Alliance delivers transformative projects that ensure resilient water supplies support sustainable growth and protect our natural resources.

Here youll play a pivotal role in leading one of the most progressive and award-winning water sector delivery organisations. Responsible for overseeing a significant portfolio of capital investment projects.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver Capital Excellence

• Lead the design build and delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure projects ensuring sustainability affordability and efficiency.
• Manage profit and loss for a portfolio valued between 600-800M for AMP8.

Inspire and Lead Teams

• Build and lead high-performing integrated delivery teams fostering a culture of collaboration creativity and continuous improvement.

Collaborate for Impact

• Develop and strengthen relationships with keyinternal andexternal stakeholders including regulators (EA Defra) local authorities councils and delivery partners.

Drive Innovation and Sustainability

• Lead the adoption of PAS 2080 principles of Avoid Switch Improve to reduce carbon and increase natural capital.
• Deliver innovative value-driven solutions through rigorous data analysis and root cause investigations.

Champion Health Safety and Well-being

• Establish andmaintaina culture of care safety and learning across all projects and teams.

Essential:

• Experience: Extensive background in delivering large-scale infrastructure projects with director-level experience and knowledge of utilities sector assets.
  • Leadership: A proven track record of building and inspiring high-performing teams while fostering a collaborative culture.
  • Strategic Vision: Ability to align long-term plans with business objectives and lead transformational programmes.
  • Stakeholder Management: Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills capable of engaging with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
  • Expertise: Deep understanding of industry standards regulatory requirements and financial planning.
  • Qualifications: Degree-qualified with a history of successfully delivering high-value capital projects.
