Depop is hiring an Associate Web Engineer to join the Demand product pillar. This team focuses on attracting and activating users through high-performing seamless buying experiences on the website.

You will work closely with Product Design Data and other engineers to build and improve user-facing features that impact conversion engagement and trust.

Youll contribute to the delivery of small to medium-sized projects collaborating with teammates to break down work solve problems and deliver value incrementally.

This role combines engineering expertise product thinking and collaboration.

What Youll Do

• Develop features that support growth and engagement to 1M active daily users

• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to deliver experiments and product improvements

• Contribute to product development from discovery through implementation

• Build performant accessible and resilient user experiences

• Support the development and maintenance of APIs

• Contribute to improvements in our design system and frontend codebase

• Participate in engineering practices such as architecture reviews blameless post-mortems and guild sessions

• Help maintain reliability performance and operational standards across the teams services

• Participate in code reviews and team discussions

What Youll Bring

• Experience working with JavaScript / TypeScript

• Experience building web applications using

• Understanding of web fundamentals: performance accessibility and cross-browser compatibility

• Experience writing automated tests using modern JS testing frameworks

• Ability to work within existing architectures and make pragmatic technical decisions

Bonus Points

• Experience with App Router (including server components and SSR strategies)

• Experience building APIs using

• Experience writing automated tests using modern testing frameworks

• Experience working in product teams or e-commerce / marketplace environments

• Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools

• Exposure to AI tools or LLMs (e.g. Claude Copilot Codex)
