The Apprentice Quantity Surveyor shall be responsible for:
Assisting with re-measurements on site for labour-only and sub-contract payments.
Attending Sub-contract pre-appointment meetings;
Sub-contract management including the checking and processing of labour-only and sub-contract payments.
Assisting in the preparation of interim valuations.
Assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reports.
Preparation and issuing of sub-contract documentation to sub-contractors.
Maintaining live costs of selected works.
Liaising with Engineers for records of labour plant & materials.
Preparing take-offs for potential schemes & for the Estimating Department.
Requirements
Essential requirements:
Resident of the city of Cardiff or close surrounding area
Demonstrate a strong desire for the role
Demonstrate an ability to work on own initiative.
Demonstrate strong communication skills
Desirable requirements:
Knowledge of the Construction Industry
A strong interest in developing a STEM career within the Construction Industry
Required Skills:
Technical Competencies Essential: Recognised Engineers Ireland / ICE accredited Civil Engineering Degree or Equivalent. Demonstrate strong communication skills. Strong IT skills. Right to work in UK and Ireland. Full Driving Licence. Desirable: An appreciation of Health & Safety practices. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Previous work experience specifically in the Construction Industry. Able to demonstrate problem solving.
