Statistics Norway – numbers that tell a story Statistics Norway is the national statistical institute of Norway and the main producer of official statistics. We are responsible for collecting, producing and communicating statistics related to the economy, population and society at national, regional and local levels. These statistics, research and analysis from Statistics Norway contribute to knowledge and insight into the development of our society. These figures also enable the public to make decisions based on facts. Statistics Norway is an organization with emphasis on knowledge with a wide variety of challenging work tasks, and with ample opportunity for personal growth and development of skills. We have a wide net of contacts, both in Norway and abroad. There are 830 employees divided between offices in Oslo and Kongsvinger. In addition there are also dedicated interviewers who work in various places in Norway. To be able to achieve our goal of being the primary source of reliable facts on Norwegian society we are reliant on competent and motivated employees.
