About the opportunity

N26 is looking for a Product Designer to join our Lending this role youll design at the intersection of credit borrowing and financial healthcovering core products like Overdraft Consumer Credit and Installment Loans (BNPL).

Your mission Replace the anxiety typically associated with debt with clarity control and empowerment.

Youll bring your expertise to the lending side contributing to a team that collectively shapes how our customers experience their entire financial life not just one corner of it.

In this role you will:

• Own the whole design journey: Youll take features from initial brief all the way to production-ready UI working independently and at pace. We need a doer: someone who moves fast takes decisions and closes loops without waiting for permission.
• Be a design systems operator: Youll work at production scale inside our shared design system contribute components back and hold the bar for consistency across your workstreams. You understand that a well-structured file is as important as a well-structured screen.
• Map complexity for real. Lending flows are intricate: credit checks eligibility states regulatory constraints repayment logic. Youll be the person who untangles that complexity and turns it into flows that feel obvious to the user even when the underlying system is anything but.
• Map / Access research with human psychology: Youll use behavioral economics to design experiences that actually trick peoples brains into building positive money habits.
• Look at the data: Youll ground your decisions in product metrics and A/B testing results and youll proactively go looking for answers when the data isnt handed to you.
• Collaborate without friction: Youll partner closely with Product Managers and Engineers to scope requirements negotiate tradeoffs and run design QA to make sure things land exactly as intended.
• Present and defend your work: Youll bring your decisions to critiques and stakeholder reviews with clear rationale grounded in research data and business context.
• Lead and level up: You will head up design across multiple workstreams or feature areas simultaneously while mentoring and stepping up the craft of the designers around you.

What you need to be successful:

Background:

• Education: Honestly we care way more about your skills and your portfolio than a piece of paper! (Not specified)
• Experience: You have 3 years of professional experience running end-to-end UX/UI product design across multiple workstreams. Bonus points if youve done this at a FinTech EdTech or another company dealing with complex consumer products heavily regulated workflows and mobile apps at serious production scale.

Skills:

• Figma at production scale: Advanced proficiency required with a genuine command of auto-layout and component architecture. We need someone who treats structured files as a craft not a nice-to-have.
• Complex flow thinking: You can hold a multi-state multi-persona flow in your head and map it clearly. You find the edge cases before engineering does.
• A portfolio that proves it: Show us the thinking behind the work not just the final screens. We cant consider applications without a portfolio.
• Data-driven approach: You use research and metrics to make decisions and youre comfortable running and interpreting A/B tests.
• Empathy & Ethics: You have a deep interest in financial inclusion and accessibility (WCAG compliance) ensuring our products work beautifully for people from all walks of life.
• Strong communication: You can pitch your work clearly to product engineering and leadership and make a compelling case under scrutiny.
