Welding QC Inspector
Job Summary
Key Roles and Responsibilities
1. Conduct and Prepare procedure qualification (PQR) / pWPS / WPS/ WPQ / ITP in accordance with ASME SEC IX / AWS D1.1 / Client specification.
2. Inspection & Testing as per ASME Pressure vessel construction as per ASME Sec VIII Power piping Process piping & Line Pipes (ASME B31.1 /B31.3 / API 5L)
3. Analyze project specifications WPS drawings MTCs and relevant documentation to ensure alignment with standard and customer requirements
4. Perform fit-up and visual inspection of welding activities for structural and piping jobs.
5. Review MTC (as per ASME SEC II /ASTM / EN)/ NDE/NDT reports and coordinate internal and external NDE/NDT parties (RT/UT/MT/PT) including scheduling and follow-up.
6. Prepare and maintain QC documentation including inspection reports weld maps weld summary sheet NDE requests / RFI and final QC dossier / MDR submission / method statements as per project requirements.
7. Read and interpret drawings isometrics and P&IDs and verify inspection points accordingly.
8. Witness critical process / arrange client witness for critical process (PWHT / Pressure test / NDE etc.)
9. Interpret and apply applicable codes and standards such as ASME ASTM AWS API and client/project specifications. Oversee quality inspections for blasting and /painting/coating activities (as applicable) ensuring compliance with surface preparation and coating requirements and ensuring related records are included in the dossier.
10. Monitor and carry out inspections before during and after welding to ensure compliance with approved WPS ITP and project requirements.
11. Participate in internal/external audits and ensure compliance with ISO/ API requirements
Requirements
Qualification Requirements
- Certification: CSWIP 3.1 / CSWIP 3.2 / CSWIP 3.2.2 NDT Level II (UT/RT/MPI/LPT)
- Education: Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years (after CSWIP) (Project site and/or workshop experience)
- Location: Ras Laffan
- Duration: 2 Months
