Heavy Duty Driver (Pitch Operation)
Job Summary
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities shall include but not be limited to the following:
Operate the pitch control room systems including SCADA and Human Machine Interface (HMI) platforms to monitor and control loading and unloading processes input operational data and ensure process accuracy.
Perform pitch truck loading operations at the Pitch Truck Loading Station ensuring correct quantities temperatures and safety checks are maintained.
Safely transport liquid pitch using designated tanker trucks from the port terminal to the Carbon Paste Plant in accordance with approved routes schedules and safety protocols.
Execute pitch unloading operations at the Paste Plant truck unloading station ensuring proper connection discharge procedures and system integrity.
Conduct routine quality checks and first-line maintenance of pitch handling equipment tanker units and associated systems to prevent malfunctions and maximize operational efficiency.
Perform operational troubleshooting and basic process servicing of equipment and systems within the liquid pitch terminal area to restore functionality in a timely manner.
Identify report and follow up on equipment malfunctions operational deviations and required modifications ensuring prompt corrective actions (repair or replacement) are implemented.
Requirements
Qualifications and Experience
Minimum Grade 10 School Certificate or equivalent educational qualification.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in heavy industry specifically in roles involving heavy-duty driving and/or equipment operation.
Proven experience in similar positions within industrial environments such as smelters ports logistics operations or large-scale manufacturing facilities.
Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage tasks efficiently in a dynamic work environment.
Effective time management skills ensuring adherence to schedules operational priorities and delivery timelines.
Basic computer literacy including the ability to use standard systems and interfaces relevant to operations (e.g. reporting tools HMI/SCADA where applicable).
Sound understanding of industrial safety practices traffic regulations and material handling procedures.
