This is not a traditional translation position. We are looking for a Translator (English to Spanish) who thrives at the intersection of language technology and innovation. You will be instrumental in consolidating our centralized translation strategy within the ENERGY sector integrating AI into workflows and actively shaping the future of translation at S&P Global. The Team:

Our ENERGY Translation team is a fast-paced forward-thinking group that values agility experimentation and technological advancement. We are building a centralized translation model powered by AI and every team member is expected to contribute to this transformation. If you enjoy routine this is not your team. We value creative problem-solvers who are eager to learn adapt and lead change.

Responsibilities and Impact:

  • Lead the integration of AI and automation into translation workflows supporting the teams centralization and optimization strategy.

  • Translate complex ENERGY sector content from English to Spanish ensuring accuracy and consistency while leveraging AI and CAT tools.

  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to understand business needs and deliver innovative scalable solutions.

  • Actively participate in the training and improvement of AI translation models providing feedback and insights.

  • Identify and implement process improvements driving efficiency and quality across the translation team.

  • Champion new technologies and best practices supporting the teams ongoing transformation.

What Were Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Professional translation experience (English to Spanish) ideally in the ENERGY sector or similar.

  • Demonstrated expertise in AI translation tools machine translation post-editing or automation technologies.

  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to work with diverse global teams.

  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Key Soft Skills:

  • Strategic thinker with a proactive innovative mindset.

  • Fast learner comfortable with ambiguity and rapid change.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to challenge the status quo.

  • Collaborative but also able to work independently and take initiative.

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced proficiency with CAT tools (e.g. Smartcat Phrase Smartling etc.) and other translation technologies.

  • Experience in process optimization or AI training projects.

  • Exposure to global teams or international work environments.

  • Degree in Translation Linguistics Computational Linguistics or related field (preferred).

  • Curiosity and willingness to experiment with new tools and methods.

  • Commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
