Quazy Foods is a young and disruptive biotech startup unleashing the power of microalgae. Using these exciting and versatile microorganisms we develop a new generation of healthy sustainable and competitive functional ingredients for the food industry and beyond. We operate our own laboratory in which we engineer different microalgae strains and cultivate them on lab scale.

The founding duo combines two decades of experience in fastgrowing startups and large corporations with significant expertise in leadership and scaleup. Our outstanding scientific team consists of passionate biotech and food tech experts. Quazy Foods is looking for an engaged biotechnology working student to support the scientific team in its daily business as well as with strategic projects. We are looking for someone who shares our excitement for microalgae our passion for innovative solutions and our ambition to help preserve our planet for future generations.

Tasks

• Prepare agar plates and culture medium.
• Conduct experiments at shake flasks.
• Take and analyse samples from shake flasks and bioreactor.
• Carry out tasks related to daily laboratory routine.
• Perform literature research.
• Support the biotech team on strategic projects.
• Ideally be available for short weekend shifts.

Requirements

• You are enrolled at a German university with a major in biotechnology life sciences or similar preferebly in a Masters programme.
• You have experience in working with microorganisms preferebly with microalgae on the lab.
• Experience with fermentation is a plus.
• You are reliable and diligent.
• You have strong analytical capabilities.
• You are fluent in English. German is a plus.
