WI - Medical Technologist - Microbology

We are seeking a Medical Technologist to: Join our team of dedicated and knowledgeable laboratorians providing remarkable patient care!Perform routine to complex lab testing. Bring forth the specialized scientific and technical knowledge essential to perform lab testing.Demonstrate strong decisionmaking skills ability to work independently and the ability to take on teaching/training responsibilities as needed.Perform advanced troubleshooting maintenance and problem resolution.Minimum Requirements: Facility Requirement: Traveler must have permanent address outside 50mile radius of Madison (permanent address must be included in travelers profile: resume Medefis portal and all onboarding documentation must have permanent address listed). Education: Bachelor s degree in a chemical physical biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology. (Education verification is required. Make sure education detail is included in profile or it will be declined). Do not submit profiles who do not meet minimum education listed above. Experience: Traveler must have completed two years of level 1 trauma hospital laboratory experience or similar size hospital. Traveler must have one year experience in clinical microbiology lab (level 1 trauma academic center or similar hospital setting).Traveler must have culture reading and gram stains experience; this should be included on skills checklist or profile. Successfully completed traveler assignment (13 weeks). Licensure and Certification: ASCP Medical Technologist certification required. References: Needs 2 completed references from recent work environment/assignments (supervisor or manager only for work performed in the last two years). FloatingTravelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age and/or based on the travelers competency skills/experience. The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units depending on the current staffing needs and/or different locations within the organization. During the traveler s assignment if the primary unit no longer has a need shifts will be reassigned to another unit in order to complete contract Location: University Hospital 600 Highland Ave Madison WI 53792 Parking: Permit required through UW Transportation

Shift: 40 hrs/week Day shifts: 7:00 AM 4:30 PM Monday Friday. Weekends and holidays as needed. No call. Manager/traveler may consider 13 or 26 week assignment.
