Essential Duties

Collaborate with the Communication Services and Digital Platforms departments to
understand project goals user requirements and content structure for effective
website design.

Design visually engaging and intuitive webpages within the CMS (content

management system) that align with the districts brand identity usability standards
and best practices.

Ensure consistency in design elements color schemes typography and branding

across different webpages and sections of the websites.

Collaborate with the Web Services team to implement designs ensuring seamless

integration and functionality.

Optimize graphics images and other visual elements for web use ensuring optimal

loading times and responsiveness.

Ensure compliance with relevant legal and accessibility standards such as ADA

compliance Section 508 guidelines and WCAG 2.1 Level AA.

Proven experience as a web designer with a strong portfolio showcasing successful

Proficiency in CMS environments preferrable Finalsite Composer.
Solid understanding of usercentered design principles usability and user experience

Strong visual design skills with an eye for typography color and composition.
Familiarity with responsive design techniques to create interfaces that function

seamlessly across different devices and screen sizes.

Understanding of SEO principles and the ability to optimize design elements for



search engine visibility.

Understanding of web accessibility guidelines (ADA compliance Section 508 WCAG

2.1 Level AA) and their impact on web content creation.

Strong attention to detail and ability to work within project timelines and deadlines.
Ability to effectively communicate design concepts and rationale to both technical

and nontechnical stakeholders.

Familiarity with educational institutions or experience in the education sector is

preferred but not required.
