Today Vital Voices has a staff of nearly 80 headquartered in Washington DC. Weve recently been working to dramatically scale our impact in accordance with our bold vision. In early 2022 we opened the first ever Global Headquarters for Womens Leadership a 30000 sq. ft. historic building just blocks from the White House on 16th Street. It is a hub of activity events and collaborations — bringing together women leaders and their allies to tackle the worlds greatest challenges.

Summary
Vital Voices is seeking a Vice President Strategic Partnerships to join the Vital Voices team. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer the VP Strategic Partnerships will work closely with the CDO and CEO to develop and refine Vital Voices corporate and foundation fundraising strategy. The VP Strategic Partnerships will be a driving force behind Vital Voices corporate and foundation fundraising efforts to achieve our annual income goals. Leveraging Vital Voices brand visibility and network of 20000 women leaders across the globe the VP Strategic Partnerships will effectively identify cultivate and manage corporate relationships to support our efforts and provide management and mentoring to the Manager Foundation Relations and Manager Development Operations. Further the Vice President Strategic Partnerships will be a thought and implementing partner to the CDO to build new revenue streams such as advisory causemarketing and other potential models for Vital Voices longterm sustainable impact.

  • Strategy:Collaborate with theCEOCDO and other senior leadership team members to develop and implementa comprehensivecorporatefundraisingand growthto ensure the sustainability of Vital Voices and set us on the path to achieve ourbold2030 vision.
  • Corporate and Foundation Fundraising: Secureunrestricted and programmatic restrictedgrantsand sponsorships from foundation and corporatedonors. Manageall foundation and corporate partnerships and fundraising. Lead the success of large fundraising campaignsincluding special events employee giving and new strategies.
  • Relationship: Develop partnerships with corporationsand foundations to further VVs mission and increase giving.Work with corporate donors to meet their marketing and communications needs in alignment with VVs mission and programs. Establish and maintain excellent collaborative relationships with VVs boardprogram staffand key stakeholders to foster their involvement in identifying cultivating soliciting and stewarding corporate prospects.
  • New Revenue Streams:Cocreate with CEO CDO and board membersalternative revenue models such as advisory services and causemarketing.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the Vital Voicescorporatefundraising efforts. Create annual reporting to provide analysis to board senior leaders and other key stakeholders about Vital Voicescorporatefundraising efforts.
  • Talent Management:As part ofdepartment management identify recruit and manage suitable candidates for program consultants and/or staff members. Actively participate in the hiring process. Serve as Team Lead for professional development and advancement. Build a culture of optimism and commitment for setting and reaching fundraising goals with the broader development team.
  • Leadership:Serve as a member of theDevelopmentLeadership team providing performance management coaching and support to Vital Voices employees across crossfunctional matrix teams.
  • Communications: Oversee the creation of reportsonepagers concept notes as well as otherdocuments. Work collaboratively with the External Affairs Team regularly to ensure that corporate sponsorships are featured.
  • DE&I Commitment: Embrace and model the Vital Voices guiding principles values investment and leadership models with the goal of supporting Vital Voices organization culture and success;
  • Other duties as assigned.

Professional Qualifications:

  • 15 years of experience in nonprofit fundraising including both strategic and frontline relationshiporientated work and solicitationsREQUIRED;
  • 10 years managing and mentoring staff
  • Innovative andentrepreneurialmindset
  • Demonstrated success in building and managing relationships with corporate and foundation partners
  • Ability to articulate a vision and build consensus among a diverse group of stakeholders
  • Strong demonstrated experience in global womens issues environmental justice peace and securityleadership development and/or human rights;
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills in English;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks swiftly shift priorities and work in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team;
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office applications (esp. Excel Word and PowerPoint) social networking tools and database software (i.e. Salesforce)
  • Experience working crossfunctionally to support key objectives and to help team members
  • Excellent communication writing and presentation skills (written and verbal) including to CEO and Board level audiences

This position is a fulltime exempt hybrid position based in Washington DC with two days of required in person attendance weekly at the Vital Voices Headquarters. Candidates not local to the DC area are expected to work from our DC headquarters for monthly Home Weeks with three days of required in person attendance at the Vital Voices Headquarters. If and when it is safe to travel domestic and international travel up to 25% may be required for the position.


The starting salary range for this position is $135010 $189282 based on experience and ability to have broad impact early. The compensation package includes comprehensive medical dental and vision insurance 401k match and generous PTO including wellness flex days generous parental leave earned sabbatical time and volunteer leave as well as short and longterm disability life insurance HSA EAP and a professional development stipend.
