The Vice President of Engineering will take ownership of the Engineering team at a scaling Series B company. We are searching for a highly talented and driven individual who is in search of a careerdefining opportunity one who will challenge their team to rapidly innovate and lead the team as a technology influencer to successfully fulfill technical operational and business requirements.

The role will report directly to the CEO and operate crossfunctionality to ensure we are intentional about our chosen path. This person will bring experience in overseeing software development infrastructure data and security and has a proven track record of scaling an effective team in a distributed environment.

Responsibilities:

Grow and develop the engineering team ensuring their execution of objectives
Manage & own the engineering infrastructure and delivery budget
Partner directly with Product Program & Design to ensure high quality collaboration throughout the product delivery squads
Foster a culture of psychological safety curiosity innovation and continuous development
Strategize and execute to deliver on customer needs which impact revenue goals
Work directly with the executive leadership team to drive crossfunctional improvement and ownership
Own the engineering team OKRs maintaining a highperformance culture
Present technical solutions and initiatives in compelling & easy to understand ways with a clear connection to broader company objectives and priorities
Proactive in removing obstacles and blockers so the team can deliver
Oversee workplace health of engineering; set expectations foster autonomy provide feedback coach develop and train as necessary
Refine teach and optimize Agile Development processes
Implement engineering best practices and promote a culture of high code quality documentation and thoughtful prioritization of tasks
Own all third party technology relationships that impact compliance and core technology services
Work to improve and develop plans and process for incident response preparedness

Success in your first year:

1. You’ll be looked at as a trusted mentor and coach to your team of highgrowth individual contributors. They’ll be amazed at how much they were able to accomplish under your guidance.
2. You’ll build a close working relationship with the VP of Product one that fosters continued alignment collaboration innovative thinking and risk taking among the crossfunctional product delivery squads.
3. You’ll be a key member of the executive team as the voice of Engineering. You’ll create and communicate strategies for future development projects based on the company’s overall objectives and resources.
4. They plan to grow the engineering team in 2024! Under your leadership we will recruit inspire and retain top talent across a variety of disciplines including fullstack engineers SRE QA and security.


What you need:

Leadership experience in SaaS product development user experience data and security
Proven background supporting applications and application teams in a production environment
Experience in a fastpaced environment and deep experience with product lifecycle roadmap prioritization customerdriven innovation within a VCbacked startup ecosystem
Previous success managing Engineering leaders/managers
Background in product development work as an IC but can communicate and coach handons and handsoff
Experience in defining engineering strategy and roadmaps for short and long term aligning with our company objectives and product strategy
Success in managing communications with key stakeholders regarding goals and measuring progress against those goals including the setting and tracking of engineering OKRs and roadmaps
Proven experience as a passionate people leader and in empowering mentoring and managing a remote team
Key leadership qualities including effective knowledge sharing facilitation of open discussions fairness and displaying appropriate levels of assertiveness
A proven ability to attract and retain top technical talent
Ability to communicate concepts in a detailed manner both technically and visually
Ability to lead our team in making important technical and architectural decisions whom have a deep knowledge of C# .NET Javascript and Vue.js

Starting salary:
