Job Description

Hybrid Role Candidate must be local to CT

Provide server and related infrastructure support to the Connecticut Department of Public Health State Laboratory which is implementing new laboratory information management systems and a new highperformance computing device for genomic sequencing work

Installing configuring and maintaining server hardware and operating systems

Administration and management of VMWare infrastructure like vSphere vCenter ESXi and virtual machines.

Managing user accounts permissions and access controls.

Monitoring system performance troubleshooting issues and ensuring high availability.

Implementing security measures including backups and data protection.

Managing software updates patches and system upgrades.

Automating administrative tasks and creating scripts for system management.

Craft and implement network configurations and test plans

Gathering and presenting System Performance Metrics

Perform platform software upgrades and failover testing

Administration of routers switches and other network equipment

Perform audits as needed

Work with IT teams in preparing platform enhancements and configurations

Identify areas of the infrastructure for optimization

Develop detailed architectural diagrams and procedure documents
