WHAT YOULL DO: The Corporate Controller is a key leadership position at Growth Acceleration Partners. We are looking for someone with a growth mindset who is eager to help our fastgrowing private company scale and prepare for more growth.
Reporting directly to the CFO the Corporate Controller will oversee critical finance operations and be responsible for the monthly close and preparing the monthly Executive Team reporting package. The ideal candidate will have previous experience as a Controller and some experience with M&A and managing team leads. The position requires significant flexibility attention to detail excellent organization skills and strong written and verbal communication skills. This individual will implement accounting best practices improve efficiency through digital automation and be a lifelong learner who aspires to the role of CFO.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA Preferred
4 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller Position in highgrowth company environment
Experience directly managing staff (hiring training mentoring)
Basic knowledge of state and federal tax requirements including Texas state income tax and sales tax helpful
Excellent interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
Experience working with ERP systems and implementing systems
Experience working with payroll systems and complying with labor laws in various states is helpful
Extensive experience using Excel (pivot tables vlookups etc) and working in a Google Docs/Sheets/Slides environment
Must be analytical with a comprehensive understanding of reporting from ERP systems spreadsheets etc.
Administrative proficiency consisting of attention to detail a sense of responsibility and initiative and a professional attitude.
Ability to prioritize work execute on time and a curiosity to learn and grow in your role
Willingness to work in the Austin office a minimum of 2 days per week and to occasionally travel to Latin America
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide leadership and direction to the corporate Finance Department to support the high growth GAP is experiencing
Assist with M&A transactions including due diligence financial statement review etc. as needed
Create develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Ensure timely and accurate invoicing while continuing to optimize and automate billing processes
Work with Latin America team to improve processes reporting and analysis
Coordinate with tax firm to ensure timely tax filings and payments
Oversee all payroll systems and functions for accuracy and efficiency
Assist with revenue recognition including making determinations and maintaining schedules
Establish/maintain procedures to ensure proper internal controls are in place to effectively mitigate risks
Handle all U.S. account and bank reconciliations initially until the department expands
Handle all AP vendor payments and credit card management
Review monthly results and implement monthly variance reporting as compared to budget
Serve as a member of the Leadership Team keeping the team abreast of the current financial health of the company and be involved in strategic growth discussions
Assist or lead other related projects as assigned
