About the Academic Tutor Position:



CogniTutor is looking for an Academic Tutor to help students in the Oceanway, Jacksonville area that desire subject assistance in elementary, middle, and high school subjects. Many of our students come from families in need or have learning disabilities. As a result, our academic tutors make a large impact on the students they work with and get a chance to be a force of change in that student's life.



While working with CogniTutor, LLC, you choose your own working times and tutoring location. What's more, you get the chance to receive more experience and a manager who may be able to write a letter of recommendation for your future endeavors. You will tutor students, keep up your schedule on our calendar, and submit session reports after sessions.



Academic Tutor and Mentor Requirements:




  • Reliable transportation

  • GPA above a 3.2

  • Great communication skills

  • Tutoring capabilities up to a high school level in math, reading, English, and science.

  • Ability to navigate computers

  • Flexibility to work late afternoons and evenings

  • Willingness to travel up to 15 miles (tutors are compensated for their travel)

  • Willingness to work 9 or more hours per week
