Training & New Store Opening Coordinator

Summary /Objective

This position supports the above to assist in optimizing restaurant performance through the planning execution follow through and measurement of training that is aligned to the annual Company plan and specific department needs. This role is responsible for assisting in the creation and execution of training plans measurement and followthrough in support of new restaurant openings training center certification processes and helping to build a culture of engagement through leadership example setting communication teaching encouraging involvement seeking feedback and providing recognition.

  • Assess communicate and support execution of Training Department plans and initiatives by assisting in the creation of the content of training videos documents and quizzes.
  • Coordinate New Store Openings (NSO) ensuring that new team members are properly trained and that the store is ready to open for business from the standpoint of teammember and management training. This includes scheduling travel logistics materials delivery and communication with franchise groups. Training & NSO Coordinators will lead training when they are onsite and will return to the restaurant to validate success. Training & NSO Coordinators may be expected to travel to and perform any function of training at NSOs during any fiscal year as directed by the Director of Training
  • Coordinate the management maintenance and cleanliness of the HGI Test Kitchen including maintenance of kitchen equipment and small wares.
  • Support the protection of assets through teaching during training events including remote training sessions and communicate topics such as risk management (safety security assets protection food safety).
  • Manage and interface with Guest Experience Platforms and report on results.
  • Track and report on vital guest satisfaction matrices with information provided by the current guest satisfaction systems.
  • Assist with requirements of Guest Services regarding relationships and loyalty.
  • Work with department leaders by providing feedback and ideas to maximize performance for the brand.
  • Assist with training and followthrough for new product and procedure implementations which include field training in stores and assisting in creating or production of training films and manuals.
  • Assist the District Managers and franchise community by supporting the proper application use and measurement of training systems.
  • Provide expertise and assistance in assigned specialty areas; this may include the development of programs learning networks and other activities or assignments of support for training and performance improvement.
  • Be familiar with all food and beverage quality and cleanliness standards as per the Operations Manual.
  • Foster positive relationships with employees and franchisees.

    Supervisory Responsibility
    This position will occasionally supervise store level employees and franchisees employees.

    Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

    This is a fulltime position. Normal business hours are Monday through Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additional hours outside of normal business hours and days of the week may be required. Unless traveling in the field or on approved business training team members are expected to work from HGI offices or work from home if applicable.

    • Training & NSO Coordinators will be required to work at New Store Openings during the fiscal year
    • A minimum of 1 week per opening is expected
  • Training & NSO Coordinators may be asked to accompany a District Manager on visits for additional training purposes.
  • Travel
    Approximately 60% travel (or as directed) expected during a fiscal calendar year. This position could possibly require the employee to be away from home up to two to three weeks at a time.

    Required Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or GED or equivalent years of experience.
    • Minimum of 2 years restaurant supervisory experience.

    Preferred Education and Experience

    • Restaurant Management Experience 3 yrs.
    • Training Leadership Experience 2 yrs.
    • New Restaurant Opening Experience 1 yr.
    • Some College coursework in Hotel & Restaurant Management is preferred.
