Traffic Operator (E & German)

Responsibilities

• Manage & establish back-to-back international trading purchase & sales contracts
• Work closely with Finance department on set-up of financial security instruments (L/Cs)
• Ensure coordination & supervision of shipments by arranging & monitoring international transport
• Liaise with ship-broker, vessel nomination, appoint cargo inspection
• Ensure all cargoes carry the correct documentation to allow export & import
• Liaise closely with agents, inspectors, customers
• Manage laytime calculations, vessel demurrage / dispatch
• Issue invoice/payment documents
• P&L trade management

Experience and background

• 5-10 years in similar position, trade support and traffic/logistics, within the international
• commodity environment, ideal in steel & ferrous metals
• In-depth knowledge and experience of international trading contractual terms, shipping, legal, inspection and finance
• Commercial/Trade Degree/Diploma or equivalent
• Languages skills; fluency (spoken & written) in English & German Italian and any other language is an asset
• Flexible, independent, self-conscientious, able to work under pressure, well organized and able to balance multiple priorities while working to tight deadlines
• Ferrous metals steel technical knowledges an advantage
